Contact Senator Schumer in Support of Funding Change that will Benefit Housing in Westchester

Westchester residents and agencies like FSSY and Westchester Children's Association need your help! 900+ homeless Westchester households now housed with Continuum of Care's Permanent Supportive Housing and Rapid Rehousing Subsidies, as well as Westchester landlords and providers of homeless services deserve the same funding and consideration by HUD as all the other surrounding counties.

Please contact Senator Schumer's office in Peekskill (914) 734-1532 or use his contact page - https://www.schumer.senate.gov/contact to send this message:

We ask you to eliminate the Westchester County's "Statutory Exception Area" status that leads to unjustified and unfair Fair Market Rent calculation for Westchester. Please advocate to make Westchester County part of the NYC FMR (called the "New York, NY HUD Metro FMR Area") as has already been done for both Rockland and Putnam Counties.

Please add a sentence into an upcoming federal budget bill that says: "The Westchester County, NY Statutory Exception Area is hereby abolished and Westchester County, NY will henceforth be included in the New York, NY HUD Metro FMR Area."

This one-sentence change has the potential to bring at least $20-25 million more annually for low-income Westchester residents with federal housing subsidies!
